Yoga and Chair Yoga | The Dover Church
Yoga and Chair Yoga
Yoga with Max is a moderate Kripalu yoga aimed for people of all abilities and experience. The goal of the class is to promote spiritual and physical well being through a series of postures that can be adapted for those who need either less or more strenuous experience. The class meets on Tuesdays from 9 am until 10:15 am in our Kraft Hall. The class is free, although free will offerings are welcome. All gifts go to The Dover Church Youth Empowerment Fund: Helping Youth Help – a fund for teenagers interested in doing some good in the world. All mats, blocks and other equipment are provided. Parking is available at The Dover Church and Kraft Hall is handicapped accessible.
Max also offers a Chair Yoga class on Tuesdays at 1 pm in the Music Room of The Dover Church, which is also handicapped accessible. This class is for those who feel more insecure about their mobility and like the support of chair in their practice. Max Olmstead is the pastor of The Dover Church and a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor.
Every Sunday morning we gather to worship God with song, prayer, reflection and community. It sounds like a strange thing to do, but this is what defines us as God’s people in this place.
At the center of the Christian life is a commitment to justice in the service of the hungry, poor, sick and homeless. Each of us have our unique calling. Our Justice and Service Ministries are always evolving to match our gifts with the needs of our neighbors.
