A New England Congregational Church in the United Church of Christ

Meditation | The Dover Church

Meditation

Meditation can be a life altering, even life saving, practice. It is a way of awakening to the present moment, letting go of past and future, seeing with fresh eyes, and cleansing your mind. Every Tuesday night at 7 PM, Max leads a meditation class in the Meetinghouse. There will be a 5 minute instruction, followed by 15 minutes of practice. If you are curious to see what this is like, video recordings are available online.

Rev. Dr. Max Olmstead preaching

At the center of worship in our Christian tradition is the sermon, a time to reflect on where God’s Word intersects, informs, enriches and directs our lives. In the sermon our in-house theologian, our pastor, seeks to help people see themselves and their lives in the light of God’s love and command to love others.

A woman and man talking at The Dover Church

The Dover Church is so much more than Sunday mornings for adults. It’s about growing friendships and connecting with neighbors, whether in yoga or a breakfast group. The only thing missing from these connections may be….You.
