The mission work of the Dover Church is born from a desire to grow in faith and to continue the work of Jesus Christ in our time and in this place. Core to The Dover Church covenant is our mission to put our faith into action beyond our congregation – whether within our town, the local community, or across the world. And while there are many things we could do, all efforts we put forth start with members of our congregation – those who have come forward with a great idea plus the passion, commitment and resources necessary to build a sustained and successful initiative.

High School Youth Group Service Trip
During the last full week of June, The Dover Church Youth Group takes its ministry of service to Western Maine. Building upon our past Mission to the Eastward (MATE) service trips to Farmington, ME, and our past experience with Appalachian Service Project in West Virginia, we will bring our home repair skills back to MATE, “reaching the last house on the last road”
Family Promise MetroWest
The Dover Church is actively involved, as a founding member, in Family Promise Metrowest, a cooperative, interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shelter, meals, and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. This nonprofit program was founded in 2008.
A Place to Turn Food Pantry
A Place to Turn is a local food pantry that provides food, household necessities, and other essential items to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through donations, special collections, and volunteer efforts, The Dover Church supports A Place to Turn’s mission of ensuring that our neighbors in need have access to basic necessities. Recent initiatives have included food and toiletry drives, diaper collections, and our annual Reverse Advent donation campaign.
Women’s Lunch Place
Women’s Lunch Place is a daytime shelter and advocacy center in Boston that provides nutritious meals, essential services, and a welcoming community for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. The Dover Church supports this ministry through donation drives and hands-on volunteer service, helping provide needed supplies and preparing meals for the women served by the organization.
New Life Furniture Bank
New Life Furniture Bank helps individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness create safe and comfortable homes by providing donated furniture and household items at no cost. Through donation drives and community support, The Dover Church partners with New Life Furniture Bank to help neighbors, including many military veterans, build a foundation for a new beginning.
The Bike Connector
The Bike Connector is a nonprofit volunteer bicycle collective based in Lowell, Massachusetts, that provides low-cost, refurbished bicycles to individuals and families in need. The Dover Church supports this ministry through bicycle donation drives and by connecting refugees and other community members with reliable transportation that promotes independence, access to employment, and community engagement.
Emergency Support & Disaster Relief
When disasters strike, The Dover Church responds by supporting trusted organizations that provide immediate relief and assistance to affected communities. Through special offerings and mission initiatives, we help address urgent needs following natural disasters and other emergencies, providing hope and practical support to those facing difficult circumstances.
Refugee Support
Welcoming strangers and caring for our neighbors are important expressions of faith at The Dover Church. Through partnerships with organizations such as Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, we support refugees and immigrant families as they establish new lives in our community. From sponsoring families and assembling care packages to building lasting friendships, our congregation is committed to offering hospitality, practical assistance, and hope to those seeking a new beginning.
