KIVA is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, KIVA lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.
We have formed a micro-financing team, making loans to people in the developing world in $25 amounts. KIVA has a repayment rate of over 99% so the money you are lending will be reimbursed. You may then choose to invest again to help others create opportunities for themselves.
Many of you have already helped borrowers either by joining the “Dover Mass” lending team on KIVA.org, or by making KIVA donations through The Dover Church. The total of our contributions is already at almost $15,000. This represents hundreds of loans that helped small entrepreneurs get out of poverty.
